Given the need for internet access for online learning, the Ministry of Education and Culture will provide a quota subsidy. This free internet will be provided to students, students, teachers, and lecturers so that online learning activities can run smoothly. The amount of this subsidy is different for each category.

For students, the Ministry of Education and Culture will provide a quota subsidy of 35 GB per month. Meanwhile, the quota is 42 GB for teachers and 50 GB for students and lecturers. This quota subsidy fund was taken from the education reserve fund in the 2020 APBD worth Rp. 7.2 trillion.

Not limited to free quota subsidies, the Ministry of Education and Culture also asks big providers to maximize signals during study hours. Thus, online learning activities can run smoothly.

How to Get Free Internet Quota for Online Learning

The Ministry of Education and Culture cooperates with schools to process the development of free internet quotas.

The school was asked to write down the student’s cell phone number according to the NISN, name and cell phone number. After that, the school was asked to verify and be signed by the principal.

After the principal has signed the integrity pact, the data must be uploaded to the Basic Education Data (Dapodik). The Data and Information Technology Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture also processes the incoming data.

They perform operator category separation and send recipient number data to the operator. Later, the free internet quota package will be sent directly to the number of each recipient of the subsidy from the operator.
